Shockwave or Java Problem

Hi there. I play games at uproar.com and iwin.com. The games use shockwave and java. I have the latest shockwave and flash programs and have had no problems with these sites until today. I had just reloaded IE 5.5 because of other problems I was having.

I open any game and instead of loading, there is a blank screen and a small "x" up in the left corner - like those that appear when a picture doesn't load. My shockwave works on other sites. Other pictures load - eg. jpeg. Does anyone have an idea what I can do to fix this problem? Thank you, Paula. :rolleyes:

Hi Paula,

You said that u were having problems prior to upgrading to IE5.5 what were they ?

You might want to try removing shockwave and flash from Add/Remove programs and then reinstalling them by going to Macromedias website. Possibly we may have to look at uninstalling IE5.5 back to IE4 and then reupgrading your browser.

Can you give us a system specs rundown of your PC pls ? Incl. type of internet connection you have, RAM, CPU speed and make etc.
