Well come to find out, no one got me WindowsME for Christmas. And after all of them telling me not to go buy it...geesh. What I'm wondering is, should I buy the Promo version or just go ahead with the update version. I read somewhere that the Promo is for Windows98 users and that the other is for Windows95 users. I have Windows98 on here right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tami

I'm sorry, I meant upgrade, not update!

Ok I'm guessing this must of been a really stupid question since no one bothered to answer me. Just to let you know (since I can't delete this post!) I got the upgrade last night and installed it over Windows98 and everything went wonderfully and so I'm real happy with it all so far.

Tami

Hey Ironside....sorry to hear you've been sick...hope your getting better. Terrible to be sick around the holidays.

I've been reading all over the place about WindowsME for a couple of weeks now, and I finally decided to try just upgrading over what I have now. I figured if anything went wrong I could always just go and do a reformat and then install it. So I was really surprised and happy about it all going well. It still doesn't seem to make my resources work a whole lot better. They still seem to go down way more than I think they should. But thats gonna be a whole nother topic soon, I think.

Thanks for the post tho...and hope your feeling better.
Tami

thanks
Just keep in mind that you still have 98 under your ME.
so no matter what 98 was a resource hog and by putting 98 on top of it dont do a lot to fix it,some times a clean install is the best way to fix it.
