i want to switch a compaq presario 5000 model 5wv280 from windows me to windows 98(me is terrible) can anyone supply the drivers and info needed to switch sucessfully? there is a 32 mb nividia video card included with the normal hardware.

Compaq should have all the device drivers on thier web site. They call them soft paqs. If you cant find all them there, go to www.windrivers.com (http://www.windrivers.com) and you will be able to find them, or at least a link to get them.
Download all the drivers and save them to disks so you will have them ready when you install win98.

I hope window ME will be much more stable after they relase their service pack. I do agree it is sometime terriable. A lot of instabilities.

I have it installed on my Compaq, I find it to be much more stable than 98, what sort of problems are you having?
