Router problem?

Hi All

Hope someone can help me. I have a DSL connection that when I connect a single comp running Win2K through the DSL modem supplied I have no problem. A friend gave me and setup a speedstream router and ethernet hub so that I can connect a 2nd comp running XP the router worked fine while he was here with both comps connecting no problem. As is the norm here in Spain we had a power outage and since then when I try to connect using the router and hub - no go. I have tried resetting the router and all seems to be ok all lights are on router and I can access the router settings. I can still connect via the DSL modem but not with the router. Any suggestions for me? Please bear in mind I am a blonde, but I follow instruction well. :D

Woohoo!! I fiddled and fiddled with the settings and finally have the thing working - I tried comparing the settings for the direct connection and the router and it turns out the gatewayIP was different. I changed the router gateway IP to the same as for the direct connection and waddya know connected. :D :bouncy: Now I have had two problems solved today
