I'm trying to direct connect two computers via a serial port. I have a serial to serial cable and I thought I had everything set up correct but everytime I try to connect the two, the guest computer says that my credentials have failed network identification. I'm not sure why this keeps happening. The computer I'm trying to connect to has no password protecting it. Can anyone help me?

Here's a quick update: The two computers are running ME (call it computer A) and the other is win2k (call it computer B). When I make A the host and B the guest. I get a message saying your credentials have failed remote network authentication. Enter a user name and password with access to the remote network domain. However when I turn on computer A normally I never need to log in. If I switch the computers around (make A the guest and B the host) they connect but I get a message saying that computer A could not display the contents of B because the domain specified was invalid.
