Need to format about 150 leased PC to be returned to lease company. Have windows 2000 loaded. Made boot disks and loaded but PC does not boot to the A: drive using disks just instead tries to start win 2000 install.
Used the recovery console to format and seems to work OK. after format done restart PC and get error message no ntdlr which I think is OK.
Also tried format method using Win2000 Cd and following prompts. Get to screen that lets me format do this then f3 to exit out and reboot rather than installing windows. Get message non system disk error. This is usually OK as well. Is there a quicker format method. Tried using win 98 boot disk and can get to a: drive but when I type in format c:\s get error incorrect paremeter.
Help need to format PC's urgently as they are due to be sent back soon.

Hi! Welcome to CTH

Unless you made a typo the correct command is

format C: /s

However, if the drives have a NTFS partition, you will have to repartion to FAT then format.
