I found post almost exact like I want to post: I have just set up a network at home. It funfctions fine with shared printers and interned connection. I wanted to use Remote Desktop program, so I don't have to chase backward and forwards to each computer. I get as far as the log-on screen, I enter name of computer I want to access, then it says :"The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connection might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connection. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection. Please try connecting again late. If the problem continues to occur, contact your administrator."
One computer is running WinXP Home Edition (SP1) the other Win98SE. I nstalled Client Software on 98SE from Microsoft website, telling me it will works on Win95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, 2000. The client software is installed by default on WinXP Pro and XP Home Ed. ( I enabled it) I did everything "step by step" from Microsoft tutorial - NO GO.
Any help appreciated.
BTW using "browse for more" in that log-on screen shows "mynetwork", but no computers listed.
