Bewildered

I hope you can help me?
I have Win2K Pro installed on my laptop, until today it's been working OK, now it keeps on rebooting and going through disk checking. It has been throwing up a blue screen during the reboot, I've just managed to stop auto reboot and can now read the message which says:
--------
*** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x751920F2,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x751920F2)
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group.
--------
Unfortunately I dont have a system administrator, only have the recovery disks that came with the machine when new, they want to erase the contents of the hard disk and replace with basic setup.
Can anyone explain what's going on and help me to find a solution? I really dont' want to lose the data on the machine and have to start again.
Regards
