What are the differences between CD, Enhanced CD, and SACD?

Would be interested to hear opinions on how significant these improvements in CD technologies are.

What prompted this was that I was thinking of buying Peter Gabriel's UP album again (I bought it on release day and did not like it and sold it at Amazon.com),

The Circuit City site also lists that the LP version of this album is $49! Is that what I think it is? Are they charging audiophiles that want good ol' vinyl *****$50***** for an album?

As far as the price of vinyl, well if you think about it, they are few and far between. There is not a market for it so very few are made.
