boot disks for windows 2k
GretaP,
Wondered if you could help me. I bought an older IBM thinkpad which does not have a floppy drive. I have a copy of Windows 2000 but don't know how to install it into the computer. I don't have a boot disk and wondered, if I download it from Bootdisk.com should I burn it onto a CD and open it from there. thanks for the help! |

Welcome to CTH
I split these thread so your post would not get buried in the other one. Go into BIOS (usually hitting the DELETE key at the 1st boot screen). Set the boot sequence to CDROM as the 1st boot device. Put the W2K CD in and it should boot off of the CD so you can install.

So I don't need a boot disk or do you mean after I get one. Sorry, I haven't done this before.

If you have the Original W2K CD, you do not need a boot disk. The computer, after you set it, should boot directly from the W2K CD, and allow you to install it. If it is a COPY it may not.
