I am having problems downloading

My computer always downloads about half of the file I'm trying to get. After downloading about 40-60% of a file it kind of zips right through the rest and says download complete but when I try to view something, an Avi file for example, I don't have the whole thing. I have no idea what to do.

Are you using a download manager of some description?

Just to be sure, note the file size before you start to download and see what you actually get.

Have you tried using something like Gozilla, then at least if you don't download the whole thing you can use gozilla to resume the download where you left off.
