I had probs with WinME - I had to take it off after getting constant and I mean CONSTANT white crosses on red backgrounds with error in... has caused an exception in...and others. Most common being kernel32.dll - Do I need to upgrade the BIOS to use ME ? I got no help WHATSOEVER from GIGABYTE the b*st*rds never answered ONE single e-mail out of the dozen or so I sent to different Gigabyte help addresses. Not one. Anyone thinking of a new M/B take my word and my experiences . DO NOT BUY GIGABYTE WHATEVER YOU DO

Your machine is probably corrupt from all the fumes drifting up from the Maccums and the Smoggies:lol

Hehe, seriously a BIOS upgrade is not normally necessary, particularly if you`ve "upgraded" from W98. Tell you what, Start>Run>type in drwatson and keep him active(it should show an icon in the task bar). The next time you get the dreaded red cross, drwatson will take a system snapshot and hopefully highlight the conflict.

The Microsoft site on troubleshooting has loads of references to errors that can relate to kernal32, maybe you can see if your particular error can fall within a search.

And divvent fret!!
