i'm networked with another computer in the house to provide, internet and printer sharing. Right now my PCI card is running at 10Mbps, I think this is causing conflict with the printer because it can't send the info fast enough. I want to change it to 100Mbps , when i go into configuration and change it , windows says network connection unplugged !
some one please help

What make and model of ethernet card are you using? What make and model of hub/switch/router is it connected to?

The most likely possibility is that the network cable you are using is not wired correctly for or of good enough quality for 100 speed use. Check the order of the wire colors on each end. They should be using one of the following 2 patterns:

White Orange
Orange
White Green
Blue
White Blue
Green
White Brown
Brown

or

What's on the other end line that's plugged into this NIC. If it's a 10mb hub this would cause what you are describing. If you have an older hub it could be 10mb only. Set the card to AUTO and see what it sets itself to.

edubb112,

You asked the same question in two different threads, you should post your question in one thread. I merged both your threads into this one.....
