I had a problem with my pc, I had to reformat the hard disk. When I go to reinstall win 2000, I start to get problems.
When I run the boot disks it asks me to put the win 2000 cd rom in, It starts to install but it stops on 56%. It then comes up with an error message saying:
Setup failed to insatll the product catalogs, No signatures was present. Loadlibrary returned error 999 (3e7).
Any advice??
Thanks!

Welcome to CTH

When you formatted how did you format the drive? Use FDISK or another program or the Hard Drive manufactures disk?

Do you know if it was formatted as a NTFS or FAT partition.

Try booting from the CD, change your boot sequence to CD first. W2K will boot from a CD.

I used FDISK and formatted as a NTFS partition.
When I boot from the disk I get the following error message:
Setup could not register the OLE control c:\WINNT\system32\dssbase.dll because of the following error:
loadlibrary returned error 999 (3e7).
I have also tried it with several copys of win2k and still getting the same problem. Anything else you can think of? any help would be much appreciated!
