Has anyone noticed that it's possible to download free Hi-Quality games legally?(Or at least I was told it is legal). Project64 (http://pj64.emulation64.com/iedefault.htm) is a great Nintendo 64 emulator, it's free and works great. You can download full games(3mb-60mb) and simply open them with the program, who really needs the newest 3D game on the market? When it comes ot the games, they can be downloaded from here(use winace or ultimatezip to unzip the .ace files) (http://members.brabant.chello.nl/~c.lieberwirth/n64a.htm). I'm not advertising for pj64, but it's been voted the best emulator by some site(I don't remember wich, but it seemed big and fancy).
I highly recommend it. My younger brother wanted me to buy him GTA: Vice City, and when I did, he played nothing but it for tow days, but after those two days, I was testing out different emulators and games, and he saw it, and started playing it all the time, completely forgot about GTA:VC, he kept playing this game called Zelda Mojoras mask or something like that...anyway, this is a good way to save some money from not having to buy games.

Yes. I do it all the time. :) My prefferred methood is using a playstation 2 controller with a USB adapter, that works with my system. Since there are a lot of open source emulators out there, I use them.
My fav site for emulators is zophar.net, and I get my roms from p2p.

As for the legal point I always thought that the emulators were legal but the ROMS (the games) were illegal to download unless you delete them after 24 hours or something like that...this could have changed.

Yeah, everything I have read says it's illegal, but Nintendo (or the other game companies) must not seem to care, because there are ROM sites all over the internet, and they are really easy to find. However, MP3 sites are hard to find, because people have been sued for hosting MP3 downloads.
I'd assume the reason is that the games that are most emulated are no longer available from their maker, so they wouldn't be making money, even if you did buy them.
Now, if you were to download ROMS for the Gamecube, PS2 or XBox, then someone may get mad.
As for me, I emulate the SNES, and I have 3 NES emulators, and 80 games (a zip file from Limewire), but can't get any of the 3 NES emulators to work. Kernel32.dll error.
I use the Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad, since it came with the computer.

A good way to download MP3's, click here. (http://ww.altavista.com/audio)
When it comes to GC, PS2 and XB, those aren't called roms(Read Only Memory) but ISO's.
And try this snes emulator. (http://www.snes9x.com/)

Making ROMs on newer systems would be impossible - the ISOs for the DVDs are up to 8 GB. A few years from now, when new technology is diffused, and we have faster processors that are capable of emulating X Box, such as on 17GHz processors with 8GB RAM, and the average connection is served via fiber optic at around 10/100 megabits, then we might have a higher diffusion of X Box and Gamecube games.

I always digged ZSNESW, mainly as it's open source. But, since 9x is, I shall give it a try. :)
