 I need some help. when i try to open up internet explorer i get a blank page that shows that its loading in the progress bar at the bottom, but never finishes. it also says website found and waiting for response... It was just working yesterday and i don't think i've changed anything that would affect that. My cable modem lights show that its sending and recieving information and some applications that require an internet connection, like aol instant messenger, are still working. it just seems to be the browser. I have to use a computer away from home so it may take a little bit to respond. i welcome any advice anyone has to offer. thanks

I ran an anti-virus scan and it said it didn't detect any viruses. Now the problem is my computer wont boot up. when i turn the power on there's kind of a burnt smell and the monitor doesn't come on. It makes the normal noises when it's trying to boot, but for a long time. I think my processor or something is fried. If i can get it up to run hijack this i'll post a log.
