changing file properties

its me again
im hoping to learn how to change what a file opens with.for example i have JPEG files that will not open because its saying i need "real player.exe" to open it.
i removed real player off this computer after i got it and im used to win2k.in win2k i could just right click,go to properties and change what the file opens with.
its probable real easy but i couldnt find it in the windows 98 help directory.

I do not have win98 handy right now but go to windows help and look up file association. It should take you step by step on this.

i followed the help file.thank you very much for the correct terminology to find it in win98 help.
now if i can just figure out what(and where in my computer)to open jepegs with.

ok ok im not such a tool :D
along with your help and a quick searchon"jpeg"i read a few threads and was able to figure that i can use iexplore to open jpegs.
