Dear CTH,
A friend left her machine with me to try and fix. I think she's running Win 98 but not sure.
When I plugged everything in and started the thing I can here it trying to boot, but the screen stays blank, and then in a little bit the on/off light starts blinking like it's on stand by or something.
I tried using a boot disk but had no luck getting anything to come up on the screen.
I should mention that all she left me was the tower and I unplugged mine and just plugged her's up to my monitor, keyboard ect. So I know all that stuff works.
If you all have read any of my questions I posted in the past, you know I am a walking D.A. when it comes to computers. I told this girl I would ask ya'll for some advice and help before taking it to a shop.
Can anyone help?
Thanks Robin

Hi robin,
LOL!!! Love the heading for your topic!!

If you're comfortable opening the case and poking around inside, check to ensure that all the expansion cards are properly seated and, if it has an AGP slot for video card, see if there is an expansion card in the PCI slot that's next to the AGP slot.......if there is a card in this slot, move it to another PCI slot.

If you're not comfortable opening the case and poking around, perhaps bring it to a shop.
