Unhappy svhost has gennerated errors message

Hello, Im new and im not very good at explaining what is happening, but i will give it a try. first of all i dont have a antivirus program. my friend gave me norton to use but maybe the virus was already there because it could not get it out. it was netskyB. it was in the svhost file. dont know what that is. i couldnt get it off the compt. so i reformated the computer. im now checking with an online virus scanner www.trend.com and it said i had two virus's abbot or something like that. so i deleted them. but and error box keeps coming up saing svhost has generated errors and windows will now close the program. this is the same file that had the netsky b virus. Do you know what i should do.? what is svhost? evenutly i will get a virus program. just cant afford one. right now. thanks for any help you may give. stileto.

You need to do an update. START | WINDOWS Update

Install all of the security updates and then post back if the same problem exists.

If the problem persists after installing your Windows Updates, Go here and download the latest version of Hijack This to a new folder on your drive, unzip it and click on run a scan. Most of the files listed will be harmless and/or required so do not make any changes, just click on Save Log, copy it and post it back in this thread.
