I assume its a router and you're trying to Forward Ports.
What ports does eDonkey use? Does eDonkey require youu to logon to a secondary server if you are behind a router (as WinMX does). Does your router require the ports for a specific IP Address? Does it have an inbuilt firewall? Do you have any other Firewalls running?

it has a built in firewall. I need to do something called "port forwarding" I am not real familiar with this firewall stuff. I do use Mcafee firewall but I had disabled it to try this program. The program runs but not up to full potential. There is no specific port that I have to use. It was recommended to test at 80 which i did and still doesn't work correctly

You need to add the ports into the Port Forwarding section in your Router Configuration.
