Do I need these programs on start up?

My computer runs really slow. In my program box I keep getting new names I do not know. Should I close them or if they are unnecessary how do I delete them completely?

I am curious about stimon, point32, the 2 hp programs because they appear every day and I don't know what they do. The others appeared after I switched to sbc dsl from broadband.

I think you have SPYWARE running. Go HERE (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/downloads/download.php/id/36) and download and run SPYBOT, check what it finds and hit fix it.

Now check what is running, betcha they are gone.....
