Have a Linksys LNE100TX v5 PCI card. Connect to the Internet via cable modem. Modem is connected to the NIC.
This is kind of a dumb question, but are the lights on the card supposed to be on if the card is working correctly? Device Manager says 'Device is working properly', but there are no lights on. Have installed the driver for it several times, but still no-go. Any suggestions, or is the NIC dead? Thanks for the help. |

The device can be installed and working, but if you don't have a cable pluged into it or the wrong kind of cable pluged in no lights will be on.

Thanks for the reply.
The NIC has been installed on the PC for a while. The lights went out on Friday. Until then, it was working fine. When the PC boots some light activity is seen, then the lights go out. Any thoughts? |

may want to pull the card and plug it back in. Make sure there are no dust within the case, make sure all cables between the wall and the card are properly plugged in. What about the lights on the cable modem? Do they seem to be working correctly.
Anyway, if you have access to another card, you can get that one a try. If you have to get a new one, fortunately they are cheap.
