problem with excel's autofilter....

I am having a problem with excel's autofilter.
I have used this feature alot before and it always seemed to work fine.
I am using excel 2002 on xp home.

When I use autofilter I should be all to pick out all the values that are the same in any field in my list, but it is not doing this, it puts some that are the same at the top, and leaves all the other values in the list, with a few of the ones I want interspersed randomly.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi topcat.
Sorry I'm having a little difficulty understanding exactly what Excel is producing when you autofilter but something to remember when auto-filtering:
1) Make sure there are no completely blank rows in your list.
2) It helps (though it is not always necessary) to sort the list before filtering.
