scandisk (not responding)

Looking for a little help, I am running windows 98, only Explorer and Systray running and Scandisk stops responding.
Scandisk will run in Dos, Defrag ran fine. Have we some how deleted a necessary scandisk file? Thanks

Try running Scandisk in Safe Mode.
