ethernet cable trouble help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have cable modem that is hooked up with usb i want to connect to a ethernet cable but when i do it says that i have connected and the ie wont open any pages says i'm not on the internet help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may have to reset the modem for it to connect via ethernet and optain a mac address.

Also check that the NIC card has no problems in Device Manager.

i up dated the drivers and reset the moden and it worked fine thanks degsy. after i got the driver it still wouldnt work then i remembered what you said, works fine now thanks
