Probs with network

After trying everything I can think of..please help
I'm running a wireless network at home. Both PC's on XP home ed, both access the internet no probs.
Now the wierd bit.
Oh and by the way firewalls on both PC's disabled (using built in firewall on router). I set the LAN up on the main PC and made a set up disc, as directed by set up prog, used this to set second PC.
The main PC, connected to the wireless router via ethernet cable can see the second PC, shared files and open them no probs.
The second PC, using a wireless adaptor, can see the main PC, and the shared files...but when I try to open the files I get an error message like 'not enough server storage is available to process this command'
The second PC (with the problem) can print to the network printer attached to the main PC. So somethings getting through???
Both PC's are 2.66GHz, 256-512 RAM,
Router BT Voyager 2000
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Give this a try, on the main PC, and see if it solves the problem:

Open the registry editor (Start>Run key in regedit then click on OK or hit ENTER), then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Servic es>LanmanServer>Parameters

Look in the right pane when you've clicked on Parameters.....if the value IRPStackSize is not present, then the value is default 15.....if the value is present, try increasing it by right-clicking on IRPstackSize, selecting Modify, selecting Decimal for Base, then changing the Value data in increments (up to 50) until the error message no longer occurs.

If the value isn't present, create the value by going to Edit>New>DWORD Value
Name the new DWORD Value IRPStackSize
Now, modify the Value data for IRPStackSize as outlined above.

Are there any entries for this error in Event Viewer (eg., Event ID: 2011)?

Whew!! Glad it all works fine now, as the error code that you reported (2011) is usually due to a too-small irpstacksize parameter, and I would have been at a loss to figure out what else might be wrong.

I did notice that I failed to mention that you should do a restart after changing the value(s) in the registry. That may have been why it didn't "settle in" right away.

You're very welcome for the help
