There a problem one of my friends is facing. She has Windows ME IE 5.5 Whenever she boots up or reboot her computer, she has to right click the IE icon then go into "Tools" then hit Internet Options and then under "Connect" because the dial up connection always reverts back to "Never dial a connection." She then has to manually click (each boot up) on "Always dial default connection" in order to have the dial up connection work whenever she clicks on the Internet Explorer icon, on the desk top, (which is the problem - She doesn't want to have to do this.) there is only one dial up connection, which is the default (and states this next to her ISP in all my dial up settings.) Yet still whenever she reboots, it automaticaly revets back to (every time!)..."Never dial a connection" in the Internet Options, Connect tab. what she is doing now is that she clicks on the ISP dial-up icon for which she has added a shortcut on her desktop. however, this is quite irritating to her and she wants her system to "remember" he settings to "Always dial default connection". she has done one small exercise of trying to disable everything one at a time in System Options from the system tools but to no avail.
i know that it is possible to do this and i've done it quite sometime back for someone. but that was R&D and it worked. now i just cannot recall how to set it right again. i think it had something to do with the registry (if i'm right) to save the settings.
does anyone know how to do it?
