:bouncy: This my first post in this tech site I am new here. I found it from Bootdisk.com. My question is how to create a clean boot disk with only Command.com,IO.sys,MSdos.sys? Do I take a 98 startup disk and open it showing all hidden files and only copy the ones I want to a folder then put it back on another floppy. I am needing this for a file that is being created for me to fix the bios that I ordered.
Thanks,

yes, that would work.
or you could take an existing bootdisk and delete all files except those you want.

;) I figured it out. What you do is take an existing startup like you said but you have unhide all the files then delete them except for the three needed. Command.com,IO.sys,MSdos.sys. Then unzip the files I needed and add them but it did not solve my problem. The cooling fans would not work at all with the flash they sent me. I reinstalled the other flash and the fans worked on 98se but not on xppro. The system was dual booted. What the problem is that I had to upgrade my bios for a new hard drive on a 400mgz mpent. 2 motherboard. The cooling fans worked on 98se but will not work on a dual boot for xppro. They gave me three options 1 send back the upgrade for a partial refund, 2 hotwire the cooling fans on the cpu, 3 send them my motherboard so they could write the bios for it. I told them before I send an old motherboard to them that I will try all op's on this one first. 98se, 2000pro, xppro, 2000 advanced server and maybe novell. Looks like a bunch of wipe outs to see if it is just xppro that is causing the problem with the cpu cooling fans. Anyone else had this problem?
