Yahoo messanger

I am running windows 98se. For some reason my yahoo messanger is not working correctly. When I type in a message and hit send it does not show up in the upper window. When I am online I don't see messages that others send to me, but if I am offline, I can read the offline message. Also, internet explorer won't show the home page I have selected and I can't type in the yahoo user name to view the mail and problems with other sites also. With Netscape I don't have those problems. I don't know if this is related to the messanger problem or not. I have tried the messanger help with no luck. I have uninstalled, reinstalled. I have deleted the program file and went as far as going into regedit and deleting anything yahoo. Any ideas? thanks

Hi buddy...Download 'Hijack This!'ceate a new folder and put hijack into it Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, Check for updates first by clicking the config then tools buttons. and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.
http://mjc1.com/files/merijn/HijackThis.exe

It will show what's running on your computer...Don't make any changes until
someone checks it out.

Try going to tools>internet options>security tab..hit default level
Privacy tab set to medium. Also in general tab hit settings>view objects if there is anything you don't know...or broken in there delete them. Check the Yahoo controls are present and working.
