Windows Media Player 6.4

It's small, fast, simple.
If you can't be bothered with playlists, visualizations and track info then it's great!

Even have it installed on XP
It plays videos Full Screen which WMP9 doesn't see to want to do.

Creative Media Source

It's a big program, but what you pay for in RAM you get in features and performance...

You have to have a creative brand MP3 player plugged into your computer when you run setup, but after that it's smooth sailing. Download from Creative's site for free. This program has the best media/playlist organizer I have seen to date... I have not run accross ANY media format it cannot play (with the exception of Vob files. but this is more for music & video then DVDs). But the coolest thing is that it can rip ANY song off ANY CD, encrypted or not, perfectly. And then encode it to ANY format at ANY bit rate. Can also capture digital and analouge audio playing through your sound card or microphone. Find someone with a Creative Muvo or Jukebox and borrow it to install the media player, SO WORTH IT!

I use WMP9 for the most part to play all audio and video. It's preinstalled and works well enough for my needs. I do also use Winamp 2.9 for when I want to hear just a few selected tracks b/c it's easier than dealing with WMP when adding 10 or so tracks from various directories.

My WMP9 seems to always want a bar top & bottom (controls), which I don't consider as fullscreen.

If anyone knows how to get rid then shout up

You just have to have it configured right for the controls not to show.

Winamp 3 under Windoze, XMMS for audio, and Kaffiene for Video. Winamp 5 is too bloaty/slow, and I don't see any new features I'd actually use.

1by1 (48 KB)
1by1 is a very small sized player which is not only small: It plays whole directories without a playlist

I'm a mucicmatch guy. I like the intro sound, how it does the CDDB database, and it looks the most eye appealing to me. Windows Media Player used to give me some trouble. Winamp still gives me trouble.
