Does Ad aware stop certain programs from working?

What does Ad aware really do anyway? is it worth downloading? Does it contain spyware?

A friend told me it stopped some of here programs from working. Why would it do that?

yes it could. If the program requires spyware in order for it to run, then it will not work after it is removed. IMO any programs that do require spyware is not worth running/keeping anyway. There are always alternatives.

Cool

Adware and Spybot S&D are a must to have installed....why people do not have these programs installed i can"t understand, there highly efficient and there "FREE"..i totally concur with renegade600..." any programs that do require spyware is not worth running/keeping anyway. There are always alternatives."...there are some excellent freeware programs to be used for every type of use...that are not loaded with spyware and adware
