changing providers

I currently use Sprint DSL through a modem provided by them and a Linsys wireless access point router using both wireless and wired ports. Because of service problems I am thinking about switching to a cable based internet provider. I have a new cable modem but it seems that I had to do something to make the linksys router talk to the sprint modem. Any ideas what that might have been?

dsl to cable

i just made the reverse switch from cable to DSL..... only difference in my case was i had to change router settings from Dynamic addressing to PPPOE to sign on with dsl...using a user name and pw which is NOT required with Cable. ask your cable company..but most likely...its just set your router to dynamic and then plug it in. shouldnt require anything else
then again what do i know lol....
hope the info applies to your case

Thanks for the info. I contacted Linksys and that seems to be the same thing they said. When I get the new provider they said I could call and they would walk me through the process. Something about opening the browser and typing in a code that activates the modem or something like that. Again, thanks for the help.
