HELP! I just went to the Windows Update site and downloaded the update for DirectX 8.1. When I rebooted my computer, I got this error screen:
An exception OE has occured at 0028:C164B383 in VxD WSOCK2(01) + 000008E3. This was called from 0028:C024C58B in VxD VMM(0C) + 0000058B. It my be possible to continue normally.
*Press any key to attempt to continue.
*Press CRTL + ALT + DEL to restart your computer. You will lose any unsaved information in all applications
Press any key to continue .
So, I pressed the Enter key and everything started up normally. Last time I had an OE error(different numbers and letters) the people at Gateway told me I had to start over and reload everything. I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN. Please help!
K.  :( :(
P.S. The IE version is 6.0.2600.0000
DirectX version is 8.1 (4.08.01.0881)
