Inserting text into .AVI files

Hi! I admin a site about nunchaku (martial arts weapon), and have made some of my own demonstrational footage. for a while ive been trying to insert simple text containing the sites URL in the corner of the clips so people always know where the clips came from.. Ive tried to use Adobe Premier Pro, but that didnt understand the files (no suitable decompressor could be found, or something to that affect i think)
Ive tried various freeware, and had no luck.. i dont understand..

an example of the footage is here: http://chex.swaza.com/footage/Ariel-Combo.AVI
Do i need to change the encoding to be able to edit text into the file(s)?? if thats not the case, then how would i go about editing text in???

any help would be greatly appreciated.. Let me know if i need to clarify anything..

What did you use to encode the file?
You could check the Adobe site for appropriate plugins.

Otherwise you could try different software.

If you live in the UK then checkout this months editon of PCW Magazine.
You get the full program of Sonic MyDVD 5

Another good program is Ulead Video Studio.

or if you have XP then try Windows Movie Maker

just tried with Windows Movie Maker and although you can add a title you can't seem to set it at the top left of the screen, only center screen.

before opening it in Premiere try running it through a file convertor.

This will make it into a more standard AVI, MPEG or WMV file.
