When I reboot my computer, everything seems normal until the desktop starts coming up. Then my floppy drive starts going crazy like it is trying to read a disk that just isn't there. This lasts for about 2 minutes. Any ideas?
Thanks, Kelly

This could be caused by a number of things. First check your anti-virus software settings. Some of these are set to scan the floppy disc for virus on every boot. If there is no disc in the drive, it may be getting stuck looking for one. Another possibility is that there was a floppy disc file that you accessed in the past, that is still in your recent document list that windows is trying to load. Go to:
Start>
Settings>
Taskbar and Start menu>
Adavanced>
There is a "clear" button there for deleting the recent file list which normally appears when you view the "documents" section in the Start menu. Hit this clear button and reboot and see if the trouble goes away. Deleting this list, does NOT delete the files themselves, just the listings for them in recent files.

Oh, sorry. Going to Start-Settings-Taskbar and Start Menu-Advanced-----I clicked on "clear" and rebooted to see if it worked and it did. You guys are great! Kelly
