When I try and use my modem, it seems to initialize but never dials the number. Also, my printer does not function. I'm guessing this is a problem with the communications ports somewhere, but i'm not sure how to fix it. I've tried reinstalling the drivers for the modem, and still, the modem initializes but never dials anything. Any suggestions?

When you go to device manager (start > settings > control panel > system > device manager) are there any yellow exclamation marks (!)?

Yes, there are some. But they are for audio codecs, so I don't think that would affect the modem.

Something else that might help. When I install the drivers for it, it keeps putting the modem on COM 3. Not sure if that helps any, but I thought someone might be able to use that info. Thanks

Luketmm,

I haven't a clue on modem problems. I'm moving this to the Hardware forum where it will get better attention. Click here (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7&t=000710) to go to your thread.
