Over the last few weeks i have been having major problems with my pc.
it first started when i was on the internet and whenever i clicked on a link nothing happened.Next i could not download anything at all this is still happening i click to download the bar at the bottom fills as if downloading the it says done and it isn't.I have used scandisk/defragged,ad-ware.
I did have norton anti virus 2003 installed but it just kept deleting all my programmes,i have used housecall to scan my system and it said that i have over 1100 infected files i have since un installed norton anti virus,i did try to download avg free but as i said i cannot download at all.
today i installed norto utilities 2001 scanned my system and it came up with over 350 problems but it said there were 12 in the registry that it could not fix
i then clicked on the registry tracker in utilities and it would not start.
I re booted my pc and noticed that the only thing showing in my start up box is the time, now i cannot even start any programmes at all, whatever i click on nothing happens or i get a box saying the file does not have a program associated with it to perform this action.create an association in the folder options control panel.I hope someone can help.
would it just be better to re install windows.

Hi wolfie
Since you can't download anything can you get e-mail? If you can get e-mail maybe we can send you hijackthis and you can install and run it that way. If you want this option you will have to go into your user cp on this web site and change to allow members to e-mail you.
