how do i fix this problem when i turn my cp on i get a message saying{memory test fail} and it wont load up windows. tried safe mode. trieed scanreg not sure what else to do. any imfo i can get would be awsome thx.:upset:

I think that possibly your memory sticks may well have died a death
You could try another memory stick, though for a 386 this may well prove to be difficult to come by at an economically viable price

Another thing to check is the bios battery.

depending upon the motherboard, you should have a small flat battery somewhere on it. The bios provides the basic instructions for a PC's hardware, and is coded into the computer's ROM (or Read Only Memory). It stores info about ram, cpu etc... When it goes bad, you start having problems similar to what you are having.
