downloaded program files

Can I delete files in the "Downloaded Program Files" folder without messing anything up?

You can delete them if you wish, but it isn't necessary and it actually helps to have those files in there. They are essentially plug-ins and such that your browser picked up while you surfed the net. Having them on-board already, saves the time of re-loading them again the next time you visit pages that need them. Usually graphics and animation intense sites. If you do delete them, they will likely be back in there in a short period of time after you go surfing again. If you run the disk clean-up utility, this is one of the areas that gets cleaned out.

Unless that folder is excessively large....I would leave them. ;)
