My recycle bin is full.. But when I explore there is nothing in it.. I have the option to empty recycle bin but it doesnt do anything. I think its a file called chkdsk.exe that I delete with a temp folder when I installed a program (not the one found in windows/command/ ).. But its write-protected and in use (I dont know how)..
Can anyone help me with this problem? All help appreciated!

Hey,
I had this problem before on Win98SE with a *.reg file I had deleted.
The way I fixed it was to open notepad > save a blank *.txt file > delete it
Then empty the recycle bin.
Try it, let us know how it goes http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ubb/smile.gif

No-Good.. Says the same thing.. "Error Unable to delete CHKDSK.EXE is write protected or in use. Check the path ..."
Good attempt though..

OK it seems you have a slightly different problem. I'll look into this.
Why may I ask did you delete CHKDSK ?

Have you tried to restore it and see if its gone that way,I dont believe you can delete a windows command, through windows.

I installed Partition Magic Pro 6 into a temp folder.. In this temp folder CHKDSK.EXE was created.. After installing the program, I deleted the folder.. When I went to empty the recycle bin it gave me that same error.. But when I explored into the recycle bin nothing was there to indicate that a file was still in there.. Futhermore, the EDIT function that you would normally use in the recycle bin to restore such files doesnt work unless I delete something new... And only then can I restore the new file..
So basically I have an empty recycle bin that shows nothing in there, but the recycle bin Icon shows it full and when I click on EMPTY RECYCLE bin it says unable to delete blah blah blah..
