i'm trying to help a friend who is visually a little impaired. please help.
my friend is having difficulty with viewing the text in the DOS format, particularly in a brightened room. It is displayed
in the typical low level MicroSoft white font. what he needs is a way to make that DOS text display as a brighter color, e.g. high yellow on black, or at least a bright white on black. does anyone know of a way to
change that color setting in the ME software, because i've not found a way to do it.

thanks to anyone who helps out. it'll be really appreciated.

I hunted all over and can not find anything that will help.
But I do have a suggestion if you use windows 98 through ME it has a option for people that have sight problems
it under add and remove programs then windows setup then click on accessibility there you will find stuff to help visibility impair persons.
Sorry I couldnt answer your other question I hope this will help.

hi there. this worked out this way.

I downloaded Ansi.com, and using that together with the prompt commands you supplied, I wrote a little batch file which is activated by a single key.
Now after calling for the DOS screen, that one keypress produces a nice bright yellow text color.

please close this thread now.
