Hi guys...
how is every body doing here.... a little Q?
wanna to install a backup domain server using win NT4.0 on a network that contains primary domain controller server with win 2000 server ... but i could not !! HELP Plz....

Don't quote me on this since 2000 is still relatively new, but I don't think you can install an nt4.0 BDC in an existing 2000 Active Directory structure. I know you can bring in 2000 domain controllers to an nt4.0 network and coexist with previous BDCs via the PDC emulator, but I don't think you can ADD BDCs back into the equation. (just a shot in the dark)
Why are you trying this anyway, why not just add a 2000 Domain Controller to the network?

duh! i can't believe I forgot to post this...
Is your network in NATIVE mode, or MIXED mode?? If it is in Native mode, you will not be able to add ANY nt4.0 domain controllers.
Mixed mode however, will let you bring in nt4.0 BDCs.
