Is it possible to have Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 installed on my computer at the same time but not running simultaneously?

Yes
Install Windows NT first of all then kick off an installation of Windows 2000. When the setup starts, instead of upgrading your current Windows Installation, select a new installation (preferrably on a different partition) and install Windows 2000 there.

Hello Dere
When the computer completes its POST routine you get a screen offering you the option of loading NT or Windows 2000.

Quick tip for choosing your default boot menu settings:
In NT they will be in the Startup/Shutdown tab of My Computer properties
In Win 9x you will have to edit your Boot.ini file manually.
