during a recent spring snow storm here in colorado i turned on my old ibm300pl, as the boot sequence was in progress, the power went out, next day this thing showes me a picture of a 3.5"disk with an arrow going to a floppy slot. the title of this post is the message. as this is a garage sale machine, i have no boot disk. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. i have been to bootdisk.com and downloaded 5 different bootdisks. i gave up. now i am here...:dizzy: if i hadn't shaved my head i'd be ripping my hair out...

I believe I have the same PC right here. Unfortunately no boot disks.
Have you tried checking the boot sequence? And do you have a CD player in that IBM. If not, perhaps you could install one temporaraly and install from that.
I remember having a simular experience once. Unfortunately it's been a while and i'm not entirely sure how i ended up fixing it.

1962 No operating system found on an IBM 300 generally means that the hard drive has failed, or that there are bad clusters at the beginning of the drive, if you haven't been playing inside your machine and it was working until recently. Time to think about replacing it
