View Full Version : Constant 100% Processor Useage

Hi,
As subject says I am getting constant 100% processor useage on
the System Monitor. Task Manager has only 6 standard items running
in the background.
I shut off a good deal including anti-virus to test.
Spy Sweeper says I have no spys.
Computer itself isn't all that slow though.
Any suggestions?
thanx

lets make sure there are no nasties on your computer, download, install in own folder, run and post the log from hijackthis (http://download.com.com/3000-8022-10227352.html?tag=lst-0-1) and someone will look at it and make sure there are no problems there.

100% processor usage is a known 'feature' of some versions of McAfee Virusscan. If you find alogserv running in your task manager, disable it. It doesn't seem to do anything, anyway.

Thanx, but first the problem has stopped.
I removed some software that was installed between
the last time I checked systems resources and yesterday.
Removing the software per se didn't alleviate the problem,
but rebooting afterward did,
Here is the log anyway, just in case that software wasn't
the source of problem.
thanx
