Hello Dere

I have a Microtek E3+ scanner that the HCL says is basically compatible with Windows 2000. The first time I installed W2k as an upgrade to Windows 95 the scanner worked fine. Later I did a clean install of W2k and since then I have been unable to get the scanner to work. The scanner is attached to LPT1 and my HP Deskjet 550C is also connected to LPT1 via connections on the scanner. The printer works fine. The SwissKnife utility reports that the port is working and reports adequate data transfer rates but the scanner is not detected if I attempt to do a scanner test. The scanner is reported as working properly in device manager. Ihave attempted to install using the latest drivers from Microtek,(v. 2.60) and the drivers that came with the scanner originally,(v. 2.40). Anybody able to get me sorted ??
