I have 2 new buttons that have appeared on the taskbar and I have no idea how they got there. I haven't a clue on what I did to get them there. One button says "add to network" the other one says "network". They don't appear to be shortcuts. because when you right click, there is no delete option. They do not show up in the startup folder in the start menu or in startup files in MSCONFIG startup items. When you click on the "network button, you get the same thing as clicking on the newtwork icon in the control panel. When you click on the add button, you get a screen to add network files and a brouse button. What did I do to get them and how do I go about getting rid of them off the taskbar?

Hello skid

Had you installed anything new around the time those buttons popped up? There are a few programs that will add new buttons.
It is possible that some utility program such as X-setup has created a link to the network applet in control panel.

Left click and hold icons then drag them into your recycle bin.
