Video compat issue

Okay, I replaced an voodoo3 2000 PCI card with an Rivia TNT2 Model 64 AGP. Well I needed to reinstall linux because I screwed up the partitions.(do not ask ) Anyhow, I can not install mandrake 9.2 now because it halts at "VESA VGA ...." and the entire system is frozen. I have to pull the plug to shut the thing down, and that is not a nice thing to do to your HDs.
