I cannot seem to get past my ME start-up problem. Any way to just wipe out the hard drive & start over from scratch by installing a new OS? The data on the drive will not be a loss to me. Its a new 80g drive.

I would suggest you download the HDD manufacturers disk tools.
These will help you partition & format the drive.
You can then install the OS.

I went to samsungs site & it had the tool. It's too big to put on a 3.5 floppy...........:( 1.8m file vs 1.4m spaceany suggestions?

You need to download, then run the program to create the bootable floppy disk.

Yup that's it. I finally figured out how to put it on a disk. Now when it opens on the bad pc, it hangs on the main tool screen & the mouse is useless...............................??? Nothing works. I have tried rebooting over & over to no avail................

How old is the PC/Motherboard?
Are you sure that it can fully support a 80gb drive?
