I have Windows 2000 Advanced Server and this morning when I come in, to my surprise, my server was rebooting every 1 minute after it comes up. I comes up and gives me a "c:\winnt\system32\services.exe" shutdown in 1 minute. It also give "error status code 128" The only thing different that I did was yesterday I installed an ftp server as a service with "Firedaemon"

Any clues???

I tried to do a repair installation but it locks up after the first reboot in the install. If I install a new installation over it will it overwrite my entire registry?

Hi Bom,

Could you pls provide us with a full system specs rundown of your PC. Incl CPU speed and type, RAM, video card, HDD, HDD controller, ATA100 etc.

This will help us to help you.

How long had this installation been running ok for you prior to this ?

Can you stay in Windows log enough to uninstall the ftp program ?

I wouldn't attempt an installation over the top btw. Installs over the top do overwrite the registry, and they rarely work 100%.
